Colorado residents have every right to feel safe in their neighborhoods and when they are on area roads and highways. While law enforcement agencies do their part to make this happen, they are not always able to stop every negligent driver from harming innocent people.
Sadly, one woman died recently in a multiple vehicle collision in Denver believed to be caused by an impaired driver. According to reports, the man was driving near Interstate 70 and Colorado Boulevard when he is said to have hit multiple other vehicles. The man left the accident scene when the crashes occurred around 6:30 p.m. on a weekday evening. It was about 9:30 p.m. that he was found at a park with no clothes on.
His charges include driving while under the influence, vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident. He was arrested and put into jail. The posted speed limit on the road where the wreck happened was 35 miles per hour. The at-fault driver is said to have been driving at more than 90 miles per hour. It is possible that both drugs and alcohol were involved but authorities are still investigating that.
People who suffer in accidents due to the reckless and selfish decisions of others deserve help. Talking with an attorney after an accident caused by a drunk or drugged driver may be a way for victims and their families to get that help.
